a Frontbildung lecture
The lecture will focus on different methods of analysing and systematizing the struggle of cultural workers in Hamburg. Combining performance and lecture, Frontbildung will dedicate special attention to the structure of self-organized groups in relation to the current reorganization of institutions.
The theory-oriented group, Frontbildung was formed as part of the European art festival Wir Sind Woanders (WSW)#2 in Hamburg 2007 with the aim of stimulating, intensifying and widening critical (self-)reflection and the discussion about the measures taken by the Hamburg-based cultural workers by providing an external intellectual stimulus.
This working group has continued its mission by exploring suitable methods and forms that would articulate the informal organizational processes on the local art scene and render them visible.
Three participants in this project (Anabela Angelovska, Karin Haenlein and Rahel Puffert) will also go into the possibilities of application of their analyses in other contexts and circumstances.
